Silverton is also able to make value-added investments at later stages through its Opportunity funds. Silverton has over $950 million in committed capital and is investing its $175 million Fund VII and $75 million Opportunity Fund II (both 2022 vintages). Silverton usually leads or co-leads an initial check of $3-$6 million into a company and roughly doubles that investment over time in most deals. Typical investment funds consist of 20-25 companies, 70% of which have a Texas presence. The Silverton portfolio includes leading companies such as Alert Media, The Zebra, Self Financial, SpyCloud, Aceable, Vacasa, SailPoint, Billie, Ontic, The Helper Bees, Storable and Ping Identity.Position OverviewSilverton is recruiting a partner-track investment Principal to its investment team. This individual will play a critical role in the core investment work of the firm. You’ll drive investment theses, source and co-sponsor new investments, hold portfolio company board and observer seats, and work very closely with the firm’s portfolio companies. The role is well-suited for a mid-career venture investor seeking to build a long-term career in the industry with a small, collaborative and cohesive firm with staying power. This is a full-time role based in Austin, Texas.Key Responsibilities- Investment Strategy: Increase the firm’s competitive advantage in the Texas market through constantly developing new theses and ways to approach the market by leveraging market insights and data- Deal Origination: Identify and source high-potential investment opportunities, building a robust pipeline of deals and relationships in target sectors- Diligence: Lead due diligence processes: conduct market research and competitive analyses, do financial modeling, perform reference calls and write investment memos- Portfolio: Selflessly support and assist Silverton portfolio companies through being a sounding board to management teams and helping them attract talent- People: Mentor and develop junior investment professionals, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment- Firm: Engage with LPs, contribute to fundraising and reporting, participate actively at AGM, author firm content- Network Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with other investors, entrepreneurs, portfolio companies, service providers and industry partners- Thought Leadership: Represent the firm at events and contribute to thought leadership efforts through publications and speaking engagementsQualifications- 5-10 years of experience in some combination of PE/VC investing, consulting, banking, start-up or big-company tech product/operations with at least 3 years of direct investment experience- A demonstrated track record of sourcing high potential investment opportunities- Experience serving as a board member or observer with a reputation for working collaboratively with founding teams and executives- An outstanding network- Highly entrepreneurial, proactive and resourceful with an exceptional work ethic- Intellectually curious about new business models, technologies and market trends- Fantastic interpersonal and organizational skills with a default preference for collaboration- A history of personal and career success- Undergraduate degree from an accredited academic institution; Masters degree preferred- Highly committed to building a long-term investment career in AustinContact InformationInterested candidates should contact Holly Davidson at Davidson Tyler: hdavidson@davidsontyler.com.To apply for this job please visit docs.google.com.
