Lead Infrastructure Architect
Other Engineering, IT
About the Role
We're looking for an infrastructure engineer who's built secure, compliant systems in regulated environments. You understand that "it works" isn't enough when you're dealing with sensitive data — it needs to be auditable, resilient, and maintainable. You'll be architecting our cloud infrastructure with a focus on security, compliance, and operational excellence. This means implementing access controls that actually make sense, building infrastructure that can pass rigorous compliance audits, and creating automation that reduces operational burden rather than adding to it.
What You'll Do
- →Design and implement secure, compliant cloud infrastructure for government and enterprise clients
- →Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using modern provisioning tools
- →Implement comprehensive RBAC systems with proper audit trails and access controls
- →Guide the team through FedRAMP certification and maintain ongoing compliance
- →Design disaster recovery and high-availability strategies
- →Create monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions that catch problems before users do
- →Automate everything that can be automated (deployment, scaling, backups, etc.)
- →Document architectural decisions and create runbooks for operations
What We're Looking For
- ✓5+ years of infrastructure/DevOps experience with production cloud environments
- ✓Deep expertise in major cloud provider services (compute, networking, storage, identity)
- ✓Experience with container orchestration platforms in production
- ✓Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code tools
- ✓Proven track record with compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, FISMA, SOC 2, or similar)
- ✓Expertise in implementing and managing RBAC systems at scale
- ✓Strong understanding of networking, security, and encryption
- ✓Scripting proficiency for automation and tooling
- ✓US citizenship (required for FedRAMP work)
Nice to Have
- +Prior experience achieving FedRAMP authorization
- +Background in security engineering or penetration testing
- +Familiarity with compliance automation and continuous monitoring tools
- +Relevant cloud or security certifications
- +Experience with large-scale data infrastructure
What We Offer
- ●Competitive salary with meaningful equity
- ●Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
- ●Unlimited PTO (we actually encourage you to use it)
- ●Remote work with flexible hours
- ●Small team where your work directly impacts the product
