Overview of Job/Team:
The Agile Release Manager will be responsible for managing and optimizing the release processes within our agile environment. This role requires a proactive approach to communication, strong project management skills, and the ability to work closely with engineering leaders to identify and mitigate project risks. The ideal candidate will have expertise in JIRA administration and a passion for facilitating successful project delivery.
What You'll Do:
- Release Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee the release of products and updates across multiple teams.
- Ensure releases are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality.
- Maintain a release calendar and communicate release schedules to stakeholders.
- JIRA Administration:
- Configure and manage JIRA to support agile processes and workflows.
- Create and maintain JIRA projects, boards, dashboards, and reports.
- Provide training and support to team members on JIRA usage and best practices.
- Proactive Communication:
- Regularly communicate project status, progress, and risks to stakeholders.
- Facilitate meetings and reviews to keep the team aligned and informed.
- Act as the primary point of contact for release-related queries and issues.
- Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks in collaboration with engineering leaders.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
- Monitor and report on risk status and mitigation efforts.
- Collaboration and Leadership:
- Work closely with engineering, product management, and QA teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback and implementing process enhancements.
- Lead retrospectives and other agile ceremonies to drive team efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in release management or a similar role within an agile environment.
- Strong expertise in JIRA administration and configuration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience working with engineering teams and understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Nice to Have
- Certification in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum Master, Agile Certified Practitioner) is a plus.
- Experience in cybersecurity or related industries.
- Familiarity with other project management tools and software
