Who You Are:

The Platform team is looking for a Senior SDET with over 6 years of professional experience and will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and usability of our products through rigorous testing best practices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, develop test plans, and execute tests using the leading tools available and methodologies. This role requires strong technical expertise in automation testing. This is a hybrid role supporting a hybrid and remote workforce in an estimated 40 hours per week.

  • Test Creation and Execution:
    • Create, execute, and maintain tests/cycles/plans across several web applications and DB/API/Authorization integrations using a programming language and a framework in our stack.
  • Automation and Tool Development:
    • Develop and maintain automation tools, data, infrastructure, and frameworks to support testing efforts.
    • Integrate automated tests and reporting in a CI/CD pipeline
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Promote a culture of continuous testing within the team.
    • Identify process and architecture inefficiencies and drive improvements in code and in the SDLC.
    • Develop technical skills including fixing bugs and work with developers to implement new features.
  • Collaboration and Best Practices:
    • Work closely with product stakeholders and developers to ensure comprehensive test case coverage for all requirements.
    • Define and drive quality assurance best practices within the team.

Skills & Experience:

  • Professional Experience:
    • At least 6 years of professional experience testing production software web applications (preferably with apps using Pyramid, React, Remix).
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Strong working knowledge creating and maintaining automated tests utilizing appropriate test framework design patterns (decorators, markers, fixtures, data classes/structures, reporting, code coverage analysis).
    • Strong working knowledge of testing backend systems via RESTful APIs.
    • Strong working knowledge of a relational and a NoSQL based database in our stack.
    • Strong working knowledge of infrastructure as code in our stack.
  • Cloud Experience:
    • Strong working knowledge of AWS services such as API Gateway, AWS Lambda, EC2, and ECS.
  • Automation and Integration:
    • Experience integrating automated tests and reporting in a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving:
    • Excellent communication and writing skills.
    • Ability to question the status quo, provide QA estimates and analyze requirements for gaps in usability.
    • Creative testing approaches for complicated test scenarios/user flows.

Performance Indicators:

  • Effective creation, execution, and maintenance of comprehensive test plans and automated tests.
  • Successful integration of automated tests and reporting into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Strong collaboration with product stakeholders and engineers to ensure thorough test coverage.
  • Promotion and implementation of quality assurance best practices within the team.
