About the Role:

Self is looking for the next great addition to our Strategy Team. Strategic Referral Partnerships Manager will help develop and execute on our partnership strategy related to offering our customers the best partner products and services. These products and services will enhance our customers experience with Self and save them money while driving revenue for Self.

The ideal candidate has experience evaluating, developing, and closing commercial relationships and negotiating commercial contracts. They will have managed these ongoing partnerships and worked with product, marketing, and other teams to ensure their success and growth. Ideally, they have a background in fintech or other financial services markets, including consumer insurance and lending.

This candidate will be responsible for driving initiatives with the strategic partners, collaborating and communicating decisions to executives internally and externally and delivering high-impact/ measurable results.


  • 3+ years in identifying, evaluating, recruiting, and managing Strategic Partnerships in Fintech and consumer financial services marketplace
  • Hands-on experience and comfort with data analysis and tools (e.g., Tableau, Excel)
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify opportunities for collaboration and develop innovative partnership strategies


  • Develop a deep understanding of Self’s products, the consumer credit market
  • Helping execute on Self’s strategic vision by identifying, negotiating and closing strategic partners
  • Building out business cases related to new referral partnerships
  • Research and analyze potential partners, build out business cases to highlight the alignment with Self’s Marketplace strategy
  • Contact targeted potential partners to educate them about the value of partnering with Self
  • Manage the ongoing partnerships, review conversion and revenue data and provide the appropriate guidance to marketing and product teams
  • Research and analyze potential partners, assessing their interests and alignment with Self’s strategic priorities
  • Partner closely with legal, marketing, finance, technology, partner management and other departments to seek guidance through the process and align on business implications
  • Monitor and track progress on collaborative projects, providing regular updates, reports, and assessments to partners and organizational leadership

Base salary range: $97,000-118,000 annually. Individual pay is based on factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, and other job-related reasons.
