About the role
Licensed School Psychologists facilitate psychological assessments for students and support families and children with learning differences by ensuring they receive the best care and tools for success.
What you'll do
Diagnose and implement individual or schoolwide intervention strategies to address educational, behavioral, or developmental issues that impact educational functioning.
May address student's learning and behavioral problems and counsel students or families.
May design and implement performance plans and evaluate performance.
Consult with other school-based personnel.
Maintain student records including, educational reports, confidential records or services provided, and behavioral data.
Report any pertinent information to the proper authorities.
Select, administer, and score psychological tests.
Interpret results and prepare reports for teachers, administrators, and parents.
Develop individualized education plans for students in collaboration with other professionals, teachers, or parents.
Counsel children and families to help solve conflicts and problems and help them adjust.
Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of academic programs and other services
Provide consultation to parents, teachers, and administrators on topics such as learning styles or behavior modification techniques.
Participate in IEP meetings and other meetings as needed.
Refer students to appropriate community services.
Education and Experience:
Masters degree in education and/or psychology-related field
Licensed specialist in school psychology
Active DOE license in residing states and states where services are provided
State and federal background checks completed within the past 5 months
2 years of school-based experience
2 years of teletherapy experience including virtual administration of psycho-educational assessments preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent Technology & Computer proficiency, including the ability to learn new digital platforms.
Reliable Wi-Fi/Internet access.
Distraction-free work environment.
Excellent knowledge of principles and evidence-based practices
Familiarity with various psycho-educational evaluation tools
Creativity and desire in running school programs that include groups and intensives
Participation in training and meetings as needed
Knowledge and experience with Special Education Services and support to include writing PLOPs, IEP Goals, and determination of appropriate services and accommodations as part of the IEP team.
Knowledge & experience in administering evaluations prefer experience in virtual administration.
Excellent written and oral communication including the ability to independently draft professional documentation as part of the evaluation and IEP process.
Flexibility and adaptability in day-to-day operations.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Manual dexterity to operate a telephone and enter data into a computer.
Facility to sit at a desk, conference table, or in meetings of various configurations for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation.
Facility to see and read, with or without visual aids, laws and codes, rules, policies, and other printed matter, and computer screens and printouts with or without reasonable accommodation.
Facility to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and to hear and understand speech on the telephone with or without reasonable accommodation.
Facility to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal conversations, in training sessions, and in other meetings with or without reasonable accommodation
Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, work well under pressure, organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks

Starting pay is determined based on experience, qualifications and the state in which service is received.
