About the role
The oversight provider is a practicing physician who functions in the oversight capacity for the Nurse Practitioners (NPs) at HelloHero. In addition, they are accountable for the delegation of tasks and oversight of such tasks (as deemed necessary by state regulations) to assure the highest quality of clinical care.
The duties of oversight include being available for telephone consults, reviewing charts with timely completion of audit reporting template, cosigning pharmacy orders if applicable, partnering with the appropriate leadership to assure highest quality standards are maintained.
Time requirements are minimally 1 to 2 hours/week. However, as a fee-per-service position, compensation is based on documentation reviewed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Conducts timely quality review and satisfactory completion of oversight documentation on assigned NP charts based on state regulations and HelloHero’s procedures.
Be available to NP as necessary via phone/virtually during time the NP is involved in clinical activities to consult on patient care.
Provides feedback to NP and partner with the VP of Clinical Operations as necessary, including any quality concerns, to aid in quality improvement for the NP and to assure highest care delivery standard.
Reviews and consents of delegated tasks and oversight of these tasks, as deemed by state guidelines, and HelloHero standards.
Performs any other duties or services required by laws, rules or regulations relating to collaboration with the NP as designated by the applicable state.
Maintains confidentiality of all patient and organization information. Follows federal and state regulations and organization policies regarding protection of patient information.
Executes collaborative case consultation with NP as required by state law and/or HelloHero procedure.
Qualifications
- MD. or D.O degree from an accredited School of Medicine or Psychiatry and completion of appropriate residency
- Active board certification or eligibility
- Current and unrestricted licensure in applicable state(s)
- Current DEA registration
- Minimum five (5) years of primary care practice or psychiatry practice
- Mental health experience preferred
- Proficiency in use of electronic medical records
- Two (2) or more years of experience supervising, training or mentoring Nurse Practitioners
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent Technology & Computer proficiency, including the ability to learn new digital platforms.
Reliable Wi-Fi/Internet access.

Flexibility and adaptability in day-to-day operations.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Manual dexterity to operate a telephone and enter data into a computer.
Facility to sit at a desk, conference table, or in meetings of various configurations for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation. An office-like, HIPPA complying environment is expected for any virtual meetings.
Facility to see and read, with or without visual aids, laws and codes, rules, policies, and other printed matter, and computer screens and printouts with or without reasonable accommodation.
Facility to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and to hear and understand speech on the telephone with or without reasonable accommodation.
Facility to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal conversations, in training sessions, and in other meetings with or without reasonable accommodation.
Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, work well under pressure, organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks.
