About the role

As a social worker or counselor, you facilitate online therapy to children and their families with mental health and behavioral needs. This is an opportunity to positively impact lives while working from home in a collaborative environment. Our ideal Online Mental Health Counselor would embrace our values of care, collaboration, courage, impact, and trust.

This is a PRN position with preference given to candidates who are open to some in person sessions. Sessions will be held Wednesday mornings, evenings, or on weekends.

What you'll do

  • Provide high-quality online counseling services to mostly children.

  • Provide services with kindness, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude.

  • Development, monitor, and report on goals; determine needs, design interventions utilizing research-based best practices.

  • Provide clear clinical documentation in our platform that supports progress towards their goals.

  • Participate in meetings as needed.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • Active Social Worker (LCSW or LCPC) licensure where residing and where performing teletherapy services. We are providing services in Michigan.

  • Computer proficiency, solid typing skills

  • Reliable wi-fi/internet access and a distraction free work environment.

  • Teletherapy experience preferred.

  • Two years of experience working as an Online Mental Health Counselor preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent Technology & Computer proficiency, including the ability to learn new digital platforms.

  • Reliable Wi-Fi/Internet access.

  • Distraction-free work environment.

  • Flexibility and adaptability in day-to-day operations.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity to operate a telephone and enter data into a computer.

  • Facility to sit at a desk, conference table, or in meetings of various configurations for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Facility to see and read, with or without visual aids, laws and codes, rules, policies, and other printed matter, and computer screens and printouts with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Facility to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and to hear and understand speech on the telephone with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Facility to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal conversations, in training sessions, and in other meetings with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, work well under pressure, organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks.

Compensation

This is a independent contractor position with a fee per service of $30 for a 30 minute session or $45 for a 45 minute session.
