About the Job
BILT is seeking a senior, hands-on engineering leader to own delivery and growth of BILT’s engineering org across cloud services, mobile apps, web, and Windows/desktop clients. This role will manage a blend of individual contributors and leads today and build out front-line leads and multiple teams over time. This role reports directly to the CTO and partners closely with Product and Design.
What you’ll do
- Lead day-to-day delivery, set priorities, remove blockers, and maintain a predictable release cadence.
- Hire, mentor, and develop senior engineers and front-line managers.
- Drive architecture and technical tradeoffs across cloud-native backend services and client applications.
- Establish and enforce engineering best practices: CI/CD, observability, security, testing, and incident response.
- Partner with Product, Design, and Customer Success to turn strategy into roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
- Represent engineering to execs and external partners.
- Management experience: 7+ years total engineering experience with 7+ years in engineering roles and multiple years of people management; proven frontline manager of engineers.
- Technical breadth: Hands-on knowledge of cloud-native backends and production mobile apps (iOS/Android), web apps, and desktop clients.
- Systems and delivery: Strong track record delivering scalable services, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and incident management.
- Communication:Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Clear cross-functional stakeholder management and exec-level reporting.
- U.S. citizenship required due to government contract stipulations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with 3D rendering, graphics pipelines, or real-time renderers.
- AR/VR product experience including Apple Vision Pro or similar.
- FedRAMP/Impact Level compliance, government contracting, or regulated environments.
- Startup experience and the ability to scale processes as the company grows.
Work Environment
· This role is based at BILT’s Global Brand Support Center in Grapevine, Texas, near DFW Airport and Southlake Town Square. In-office work is preferred. Remote work with quarterly travel will be considered for highly qualified candidates that are not within 50mi of Grapevine.
· Routine use of standard office equipment (computers, tablets, phones, email, and Microsoft Teams).
· Physical demands include prolonged computer use and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
· Office hours: 8:30 AM–5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with convenient parking and nearby amenities.
