AlertMedia is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Release Manager to join our collaborative Engineering team. The ideal candidate will ensure the successful deployment of our SaaS software with a focus on quality, availability, security, agility, and efficiency. This role involves managing the entire software release lifecycle, including scheduling, coordinating, and deploying releases across multiple applications, teams, and environments.

You enjoy working “in the weeds” with Engineers and Software Developers to practice continual improvement of not only the products delivered to customers, but also in release and deployment automation used to bring those products to life. You're a technical person who is familiar with Git, scripting, and CI/CD deployment, automation tooling, and have a meticulous drive for excellence in your work. Peers would call you a team player who is willing to jump in and help where needed, open to sharing ideas and best practices.
What you get to do every day:
- Evaluate and coordinate application changes across multiple development teams and applications.
- Bundle releases, engage stakeholders and approvers, and ensure compliance with various process quality and security gates in the exercise of our release process.
- Run build pipelines, workflow automation, and other CI/CD and deployment tooling in the execution of our release and deployment process.
- Draw on your knowledge of Git, Jenkins, CircleCI, Bitbucket, Jira, and scripting languages to troubleshoot build & deployment automation issues within the release pipelines.
- Develop additional scripts and automation capabilities within our pipelines and tooling.
- Work with tools like Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Manage a secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure that cannot fail during critical local, national, and global events.
- Work in an Agile based environment using tools like Git, JIRA, Jenkins, and Slack
- Contribute to the technology lead that AlertMedia has over other solutions through innovative development and by helping contribute new ideas related to leveraging technology in our product line and release management processes
- Contribute to AlertMedia’s culture, values, and vision for the future
What you bring to the role:
- 2 years of experience in a Release Management role within a Product or SaaS focused software development organization
- Experience/comfort working hands on within a Git based source control systems and source code
- Strong experience with Jira or similar development project and release management software
- Strong experience with Jenkins, CircleCI and/or similar code driven workflow and deployment automation tooling
- Experience with AWS or other public cloud service platform
- Knowledge of and working experience with Docker and Containerization a plus
- Experience managing large scale / high availability deployments
- Experience with scripting (Bash, Python)
- Willingness to pair up with Developers, SDETs, and DevOps Engineers to troubleshoot and remediate pipeline and application issues.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage working on multiple projects in parallel
- The ability and desire to work in a fast-paced challenging environment
- Experience with mobile app build/release/distribution a plus
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to effectively work cross-functionally in a fast-paced challenging environment
- English proficiency (written and oral) is required
- This is a hybrid position (2 days a week) in the Reforma area of Mexico City where you’ll get to collaborate with our amazing engineering team
